This documentary investigates the legend that is Titanic, with fascinating facts, memorabilia and personal recollections of the great ship.

There are contributions from survivors and from relatives of others on board some who survived, some who went down with the ship. We look at the great range of memorabilia and artefacts from the great ship and the Titanic Society itself and their convention in Southampton.

We join as boat trip leaving from the dock built for the Titanic, visit the Maritime Museum, attend a memorial service and see the various memorials to the ship and her crew.

At Colne, Lancashire, we visit the birthplace of the ship’s bandleader Wallace Hartley. In Alnwick we see film of the first class passenger lounge from the Olympic identical to that of her sister ship the Titanic – now a restaurant at the White Swan Hotel.

Previously unseen material, untold stories, rare collector’s items and interviews with experts combine to show us the importance of remembering the Titanic.
